Memories.

This is my old Hasselblad medium format camera. I had to sell it when I moved to California to pay for gas and expenses. Then proceeded to get robbed at a rest stop by an undercover retired cop. He stole all the money I had left and I was only in Utah. If you ever want to know about that hit me up. Its a good story.

Primo

This photo is from a Primo Bikes road trip I took a bit ago. It was from LA to Nor Cal/San Fran and it was a fun trip. The article for it will be out in the December issue of BMX Plus! so look out for that. This skate park was the first stop on the trip and I ended up getting 3 photos there which is a lot for an average skatepark session.

More Nike Photos

I guess there will be more photos showing up from that trip seeing as how each time I look at the folder I see photos that should go up. The first one is of the private Nike SB warehouse in Portland. That place is so much fun. I had one of the most fun skateboard sessions ever in the least amount of time there.

This is the Nike ID shoe I made. The picture was taken off of a projection screen so it sucks but you get the idea. I will take a real photo of the shoes sometime. Either way, it was cool to design a fully custom colorway of a pair of Dunk Highs.

Sweet shot from my first "Booze Cruise." It was fun for sure. Not the best idea to pack tons of people on a boat and feed them alcohol but makes for a good time.

This was a Pro wake skate dude that was part of the demonstration on how they test skate shoes with points of impact on certain tricks and all that fun technical crap.

Sweet little bike sitting in the window of some office. Cool little art piece that I would like to get my hands on eventually. Another friend has one and I think he got it in Italy if I remember correctly.

Sweet little skull/skateboard Keg tap at an art show that Nike put on.

So Cal on Fire

A lot of people don't realize this in other parts of the country but fires are a huge problem in Southern California. This photo was taken around the end of October last year and is not edited at all. There was not a single cloud in the sky that day. Some of the worst fires were pretty close to the office where BMX Plus! is based out of so I pulled off the road one day and grabbed a few shots. This is one of my favorites. Lets hope it doesn't happen again this year but chances are good it will seeing as how fire season is coming again.

Random Photo

This is going to be a normal thing on my blog. Just because I always have a "random" folder on my desktop and it contains some photos that are just that; random. Sometimes it is from a road trip for the magazine from across the country or just something strange that deserved a photo. Here is the first installment and it is a photo from a Nike 6.0 Media trip I took up to Portland, Oregon to the Nike Headquarters. There was this little room with a bunch of nostalgic Nike posters, shoes, newspaper articles and stuff like that. Just thought this was a cool vintage looking photo.

Fixed

Riding my fixed gear bike gives me a sense of freedom and I can actually clear my head and just focus on my cadence. Click here to find out what that means. I have been going on ride after ride after ride and they are fun to be a part of but none of them are quite like the wolfpack hustle. It is a challenge every week but I keep going back for more. If you have no idea what I am talking about it is a 30-50 mile ride throughout LA, Hollywood, Echo Park, Silverlake and beyond. The routes are ever changing and new people come in and out weekly. Not everyone that starts the ride finishes and it is a test of endurance for sure. The photo on the left is from one of the rides a few weeks ago mid gas station stop.

Newest Cover Photo

This is the current BMX Plus! Magazine cover that is out now that I shot in Pennsylvania on a trip to shoot an NBL race. I met up with Bryce Toole and Mark Mulville for the day and got in some quick photos before I hopped on a plane back to California. On a side note it rained for 3 of the 4 days I was there. It always feels good to get off the plane knowing it is going to be nice outside when I land back in LA.
Things have been busy at the office. It seems as though this past month has been super hectic and I haven't had much time to do anything besides magazine stuff, a little bit of riding and thats about it. Not so much complaining as I am telling how it has been. Kind of crazy thinking about the fact that I have been out West for over a year now. It was always my dream to live in California. I don't know why exactly but I have a feeling it comes from my BMX/Skateboarding/Snowboarding background and knowing that all of those things are that much better out West. I am glad to finally be living here and moving out for a position at the magazine is just the icing on the cake. Although I will soon do a comparison list and what I like/dislike about each place to compare. I have been wanting to do that ever since I moved here but since its been over a year now I fell as though I can make an educated decision.

Getting started

Man, this is nice. I have needed a place to blog at. I blog a bit on my website news section but that is more like a quick blurb as opposed to a blog. Hopefully this will be easier to throw up photos and all that good stuff.

This is a first test so lets see how it goes.
